Marketing and Development Associate

Job Brief

The Marketing and Development Associate supports contributed revenue growth, visibility of sponsored projects and community awareness of Austin Creative Alliance’s impact through fundraising, communications and events.  The successful candidate will be an extremely outgoing, passionate advocate for the value of cultural work to the Central Texas community and a proactive, self sufficient team member who thrives in a largely autonomous work environment that demands initiative, creativity and accountability.  This is a fully remote, full time position within a close knit team of career arts professionals.

Austin Creative Alliance is a 501c3 nonprofit founded in 1974, serving the cultural sector.   Our members include over 400 individual artists, musicians and creators and nearly 100 grassroots cultural organizations.

Responsibilities

Fundraising

• research grant opportunities appropriate for Austin Creative Alliance & collaborate with ACA Board and fellow staff to write grants

• manage online fundraisers through social media and other digital platforms

Communications

• strategize communication priorities with the ACA team

• implement online strategies to increase donor and member engagement

• monitor and report on social media impact with metrics for each platform

• source assets assets such as video, photos and graphics as needed for online and in person events

Events

• Manage events from conception through execution

• Recruit and manage volunteers

• Create event pages on online platforms

• Source food and beverage sponsorships as needed

• Market to the community through all ACA outlets

Qualifications

• Demonstrated history of successful grant applications

• Experience in the nonprofit sector

• Proficiency with social media

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to travel around the Austin metro area for in person meetings with team mates, ACA members and potential partners

Helpful Experience and Skills

• Familiarity with cloud business tools such as Dropbox, Google docs, email marketing, Squarespace or others

• Deep familiarity with and a network of relationships within the Central Texas cultural sector - performing arts, visual arts, historic preservation, film and/or live music

• Existing relationships within the Central Texas philanthropic community

• Experience working on a Capital campaign

• Ability to multitask and perform under tight deadlines

• Eager to take on new challenges and enjoys continuous learning
